Stansted airport has released computer-generated images of what its forthcoming new arrivals terminal will look like when it opens in 2020.
The images are the latest concepts by architect Pascall+Watson, which was selected as the designer of the new £130 million terminal in March this year.
Stansted currently has rights to handle 35 million passengers per year and saw 27 million in the last year. It has asked for permission to increase capacity to 43 million annual passengers and says it hopes to do so without additional flights or noise impact beyond current permissions.
The airport is in the first phase of a transformation project, with a new check-in zone, 350-seat restaurant and short-stay car parks opening over the summer.
